Dental Treatment Plans at Whittier Square Dentistry

Routine appointments, cosmetic dentistry, and advanced issues—we’re the dentist in Whittier to handle them all. We’ll treat your dental health holistically, providing outstanding comfort and service for the whole family.

Here are just a few of the dental treatment plans we offer:

Regular Check-ups and Cleanings

At your semi-annual appointment, we’ll provide a thorough exam and professional cleaning. During the exam, we’ll check for signs of potential dental health problems. When we clean your teeth, we’ll eliminate plaque and tartar to help prevent cavities and gum disease. Once each year, using our low-radiation digital technology, we’ll take x-rays to locate any cavities between teeth.

If your check-up reveals tooth decay, we can typically treat it with a filling. We offer a local anesthetic, as needed, then drill to remove the decayed portion of the tooth.

We’ll fill the area with porcelain to blend seamlessly with the tooth’s natural color. For baby teeth, we may use silver amalgam because your child will lose the tooth. We finish the process by setting the filling material with a UV light.

Root Canal

If we find decay has advanced significantly and can’t be treated with a filling, we may perform a root canal. We’ll remove the pulp and nerve from the tooth’s root before filling and sealing the space. Finally, we’ll apply a temporary crown before applying a permanent one in a few weeks.

Crowns and Caps

If you need a root canal or if you’ve chipped a tooth, we’ll apply a porcelain crown or cap to restore the look of your smile. We’ll take a mold of your tooth and have the piece custom-manufactured. When your crown or cap is ready, we’ll cement and bind it to the impaired tooth, shaping it for the perfect fit.

Dental Implants

If you’ve lost a tooth due to an accident or significant decay, we can make your smile whole with a dental implant. The implant is a small titanium post that’s inserted into your jaw. After a few months, the implant fuses with the bone, at which point we apply a permanent crown.

Implants are both durable and, when finished, impossible to distinguish from your natural teeth.

Cosmetic Dentistry

If you have chipped, worn, or discolored teeth, you probably hesitate to show off your smile. Our porcelain veneers will give you a grin worth flashing. This cosmetic dentistry procedure involves removing a slight layer of tooth enamel. We’ll make a custom mold of your teeth so the lab can create custom veneers.

When they arrive in a week or two, we’ll etch the surface of each tooth before permanently bonding the veneers and setting them in place with a special light.

In addition to these dental treatment plans, we offer dentures, Invisalign, whitening, and a variety of treatment options to give you the healthy, confident smile you deserve.

Flouride Treatment for Asian Girl

What a great experience every time I go to Whittier Square Dentistry! When I check-in, the staff is always upbeat and helpful. The dentists are first-rate. This time I saw Dr. Yvette Pineda. One of the great things about her is that she was a dental hygienist for several years. She then went to dental school to become a dentist. She knows teeth and gum issues.

Thank you so much! Dr Hwang is the best dentist in Whittier. He has fixed several of my bad teeth. I needed several dental fillings and a couple crowns. I feel so much better thanks to him.

I'm really happy I found Whittier Square Dentistry. On my first visit they were calm and low key yet thorough -- but not overly zealous. He took the time to carefully answer all of my questions. Their rates also seem quite reasonable.
