Cosmetic Dentistry in Whittier CA
We can improve the appearance of a tooth by the visible front surface with a custom-made, tooth-colored porcelain overlay.
Who Is A Good Candidate?
Cosmetic veneers are one of the important tools for Whittier Square Dentistry. They can be used to fix a discolored, a fractured tooth, or even for a whole section of teeth to create that beautiful smile. They can sometimes make teeth look straight and give symmetry. Some people have small teeth and they can help fill the spaces between small teeth where orthodontics may have difficulty. They can also give teeth uniform shape and color.
They can last 10 – 30 years because of the improvements made with bonding agents and cement. Make sure you brush and floss every day just like taking care of regular teeth, they can last a long time. They are very hard and durable. Teeth are also hard and durable. Your teeth are designed to last your entire life if they are given daily care and if you don’t cause damage by biting too hard causing them to crack or break. They can last a lifetime if they have good daily care. Daily flossing and brushing are vital for the good health of your teeth and your gums. Also, it’s possible to get stains from coffee, tea, and organic dyes. If you drink coffee, try to rinse your mouth and wash away the food particles. Rinsing helps wash the discoloring agents in your food and drinks to help keep them as white as possible.
New ones create beautiful smiles by covering up teeth that are misaligned and shaped incorrectly. They can even cover up gaps between your teeth.
When Are They Prescribed?
Uneven, irregularly shaped or misaligned teeth
Stained or discolored teeth
Chipped, broken or worn teeth
Sometimes to fill a gap between teeth
Even dental implants for missing teeth

How We Prepare Your Teeth: They are usually about ½ millimeter thick. We will remove about that much enamel to allow room over your teeth to look very natural and bond well. Most likely you will receive a local anesthetic. As your tooth surface is being prepared let the dentist know if you are feeling any pain so you can get a little more. He will make a mold model your teeth for the dental lab. They will take one to two weeks to arrive.
Bonding To Your Enamel: To make sure each one fits properly and is the correct color he will place them on each tooth prior to final bonding. You may notice your dentist placing and removing each veneer. This ensures the proper fit and placement. He may trim a little material as needed for proper fit. Each tooth will be etched, cleaned, and polished. The etching is to create a slightly rough surface for better and stronger bonding. We will use a special cement that will permanently bond it to your tooth. After we are happy with the placement and position, he will apply a special light beam that activates the cement’s chemical hardening and it will curing very rapidly. After it has bonded, the excess cement will be removed. We will check your bite for final adjustment. We may ask you to return to check for any gum irritation or minor adjustments.
